Cody Ryan Thorp, age 24, of Murfreesboro, Tennessee, and formerly of Bryan, Ohio, passed away suddenly on Monday, June 1, 2015, as a result of injuries sustained in an accident at work. He worked in grounds maintenance at Thorsports-Farms in Murfreesboro. Cody was a 2008 graduate of Bryan High School, where he was active in several sports. He attended The University of Toledo and was an avid Ohio State Buckeyes fan and enjoyed golfing and spending time with his dogs. Born on June 16, 1990, in Bryan, Ohio, Cody was the son of Randy Thorp and Julie (Keck) Thorp. He is survived by his father, Randy (Carol) Thorp, of Defiance, Ohio; mother, Julie (Keck) Wanstedt, of Bryan; soul mate, Riley Jackson, of Murfreesboro, Tennessee; beloved dogs, Quincy and Nala; sisters, Tosha (Todd) Moyer, of Bryan, and Ally Wanstedt, of Bryan; step-brother, Jason (Heather) Westrick, of Wauseon; step-sister, Julie (Josh) Houck, of Napoleon; paternal grandmother, Katie “Meme” Thorp, of Bryan; nieces and nephews, Taeya and Trevin Moyer, Madelyn and Collin Westrick and Annabelle Houck; uncles, Gary (Anita) Thorp, of Austin, Texas, Rob (Toni) Thorp, of Cincinnati, Ohio, and John Keck, of Bryan; aunts, Connie (Terry) Courtney, of Springfield and Toni (Duane) Sandy, of Fort Walton Beach, Florida; and many cousins. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Darrell Thorp, and maternal grandparents, Waver Lee (Keck) Dhaenens and Herbert C. Keck. Visitation for Cody will be held on Saturday, June 6, 2015, from 2:00-6:00 P.M. followed by funeral services at 6:00 P.M. at Krill Funeral Home, 860 West Mulberry Street, Bryan, with Pastor Max Begley officiating. Memorial contributions may be given to the Bryan High School Athletic Boosters, the Williams County Humane Society or an agency of the donor’s choice.
