Mark E. Bok, age 64, of rural Hicksville, Ohio, died unexpectedly on Saturday, April 18, 2015, at his home. Mr. Bok was a graduate of Fairview High School and then received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Education from The Ohio State University. He was formerly employed by the Columbus Dispatch and Air Net and recently was employed by Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne, Indiana. He was a devoted preservationist of the land and was a master gardener and an avid composter. He also enjoyed reading, was adventurous, loved to travel and had visited five continents and eight countries in his travels. Mark believed in people and encouraged all he met to stay positive and to make the best of what life has given them. His friendly attitude allowed him to make new friends everywhere he went. Most of all, he would do anything for anyone and cherished his friends and family most. Mark E. Bok was born on December 27, 1950, in Bryan, Ohio, the son of Arnold H. and Ruby M. (Hoffman) Bok. Survivors include one brother, Paul (Linda) Bok, of Springfield, Ohio, one sister, Margaret (Michael) Latimer, of Jacksonville, Florida, one sister-in-law, Shawna Bok, of Hicksville, five nieces and nephews, and seven great- nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Steve Bok, on February 21, 2015. Visitation will be held in the Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church near Edgerton, Ohio, on Friday, April 24, 2015, from 9:00 A.M. to 12:00 P.M., followed by a memorial service at the church at 12:00 P.M. with Reverend Kurt Letcher officiating. Interment will follow in the Zion Lutheran Cemetery. Memorials are requested to the Parkview Foundation or to Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church.
