Dorothy C. Kimpel, age 93, of Edgerton, Ohio, died at 3:52 A.M. on Saturday, April 18, 2015, in her home, surrounded by her family after an extended illness. A 1939 graduate of Edgerton High School, Mrs. Kimpel was a homemaker and devoted farm wife. She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Edgerton and the Rosary Altar Society. Dorothy C. Kimpel was born on June 23, 1921, in Williams County, Ohio, the daughter of Bernard and Audrey (Baerlin) Stark. She married Roger W. Kimpel on July 3, 1940, in Edgerton, Ohio, and he preceded her in death on January 27, 2008. Survivors include her nine children, Norman (Becky) Kimpel, of Edgerton, Duane (Sandie) Kimpel, of Montpelier, Ohio, Diane (William) Bauer, of Mableton, Georgia, Neal (Sherri) Kimpel, of Edgerton, JoAnn (Steve) Skiles, of West Unity, Ohio, Laura (Gerald “Buck”) Suntken, of Butler, Indiana, Mary Jane (John) Heisler, of Montpelier, Ohio, Melinda (Steve) St. John, of Bryan, Ohio, and Sherry (David) Nofziger, of Edmond, Oklahoma; one daughter-in-law, Karen (Brad) Karris, of Fort Wayne, Indiana; twenty-nine grandchildren; forty great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; one brother, Marvin (Gladys) Stark, of Las Vegas, Nevada; and two sisters, Pauline Hamman, of Edgerton, and Emma Rose Hug, of Blakeslee, Ohio. She was preceded in death by one son, Eugene, one daughter, Donna, an infant son, Carlton, an infant daughter, Elizabeth Ann, and one brother, Cleo Stark. Visitation will be held from 2:00-8:00 P.M. on Tuesday, April 21, 2015, in the Krill Funeral Home, 114 East Hull Street, Edgerton, with recitation of the rosary at 8:00 P.M. Services will be held on Wednesday, April 22, 2015, at 10:30 A.M. in St. Mary Catholic Church, Edgerton, with Reverend David Cirata officiating. Interment will be in St. Mary Catholic Cemetery, Edgerton. Memorials in the name of Dorothy C. Kimpel may be given to St. Mary Catholic Church or School or to the Edgerton Senior Center.
