Betty Lou Troder, age 85, of Bryan, Ohio, went to her eternal home on Thursday, April 9, 2015, at 11:10 A.M. Betty was born on December 22, 1929, in Ohio City, Ohio, the only child of the late Earl and Ireta (Woods) Fluttrow. Betty graduated from Central High School in Fort Wayne, Indiana, in 1947. She did clerical work for International Harvester in Fort Wayne and later for The Aro Corporation in Bryan. She met her future husband, Paul Troder, on a blind date and they were later married in Lagrange, Indiana, on May 31, 1952. Betty truly enjoyed being a homemaker, raising her two children, keeping the record books for her husband’s business and volunteering much time at church. Betty was a member of Lick Creek Church of the Brethren, where she had served on the Witness and Nurture Teams and had been a Deacon. Betty served on the church Banquet Committee and helped head up many ice cream socials and suppers. Betty also volunteered for the County Board of Elections as a clerk and judge for approximately 50 years. Betty’s passions included baking her delicious cream pies, spending countless hours on needlework projects as well as enjoying visits with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Betty is survived by her husband of 63 years, W. P. “Paul” Troder, of Bryan; daughter, Sherrie (Denny) Herman, of Bryan; son, Mark (Kathie) Troder, of Butler, Indiana; six grandchildren, David (Monica) Herman, Derrick and Aaron Herman, Benjamin Troder, Michelle (Tim Ohlrich) Troder and Melanie (Andrew) Lechleidner; five great-grandchildren, Madalyn, Mia, Brayleigh and Brantley Herman and Chloe Lechleidner, as well as cousins, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents. Visitation for Betty Lou Troder will be held on Monday, April 13, 2015, from 2:00-8:00 P.M. at Krill Funeral Home, 860 West Mulberry Street, Bryan, and one hour prior to the funeral at church. Funeral services will be held at Lick Creek Church of the Brethren on Tuesday, April 14, 2015, at 11:00 A.M. with Pastor Nancy Berkheiser officiating. Burial will follow at Brown Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be given to Community Health Professionals Hospice or the Paul and Betty Troder Scholarship Fund.
