Richard G. Hughart, Sr., age 68, of rural Hicksville, Ohio, passed away on Tuesday, April 7, 2015, at his home. Richard retired from Auburn Gear, where he had been a machine operator. He was a member of Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, near Edgerton, Ohio, and was a former member of Bryan Eagles Aerie #2233. Born on February 10, 1947, in Hicksville, Ohio, Richard was the son of Lafe and Dorothy (Klinke) Hughart, Sr. Richard is survived by his children, Shanna (Jason) Melson, of Waterloo, Indiana, and Richard (Cindy) Hughart, Jr., of Edon, Ohio; three grandchildren, Mathew, Cassidy and Katlyn; siblings, Kathy (William) Teegarden, of Goose Creek, South Caroline, James Hughart, of Goose Creek, South Carolina, Barbara (Gary) Alley, of Helmer, Indiana, Roxanne Fisher, of Fort Wayne, Indiana, Connie (Kenny) Webb, of Escondido, California, and Stan (Deb) Hughart, of Edgerton; and a sister-in-law, Carol Hughart, of Kelso, Washington. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, David Hughart and Lafe Hughart, Jr.; niece, Jennifer Hughart; nephew, Jay Hughart; and brother-in-law, Richard Fisher. Funeral services for Richard G. Hughart, Sr. will be held at 12:00 P.M. on Saturday, April 11, 2015, at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church near Edgerton and burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held Friday, April 10, 2015, from 5:00-8:00 P.M. at Krill Funeral Home, Edgerton, and one hour prior to the service at the church. Memorial contributions may be given to Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church.
