Lucille M. (Grime) Connin, age 101 (just 10 days short of her 102nd birthday), of Bryan, Ohio, passed away on Friday, March 27, 2015, at 4:55 P.M. at Genesis HealthCare-Bryan Center. Lucille was a teacher, beginning her teaching career in Ai, Ohio, and later at Lincoln Elementary School in Bryan from 1958 until her retirement in 1978. She had also worked at Connin Furniture Company and homemaker until her husband’s death in 1958. Lucille was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church in Bryan, the Rosary & Altar Society, Literary Forum, Women of the Moose, Bryan Hospital Gray Ladies, and the Retired Teachers' Association. She enjoyed travel, reading, sewing, knitting, and teaching children to read in her retirement. Lucille was born on April 7, 1913, on the family farm just outside Archbold, Ohio, the daughter of Clarence and Ethel (Harsch) Grime. She was a graduate of Archbold High School at the top of her class and received her teaching degree at Bowling Green State University. She married Carson H. Connin in 1938 and he preceded her in death in 1958. Lucille is survived by her sons, Ray (Patricia) Connin, of Bryan and Naples, Florida, and John L. Connin, of Longwood, Florida; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a brother, Clare Grime, of Archbold. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and brothers, Robert Grime and Herbert Grime. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, March 31, 2015, at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Bryan with Father James Halleron officiating. Burial at Shiffler Cemetery will follow the services. Arrangements have been entrusted to Krill Funeral Service, 860 West Mulberry Street, Bryan. In lieu of flowers, memorials are requested to St. Patrick Catholic School.
