Mary A. Brodbeck, age 55, of Ney, Ohio, died at 3:37 P.M. on Friday, February 6, 2015, at Community Health Professionals Inpatient Hospice near Defiance, Ohio, after an extended illness. A 1977 graduate of Bryan High School, Mary worked in banking for thirty-five years, most recently as manager of Farmers and Merchants State Bank in Hicksville, Ohio. She was active with the Bryan and Edgerton Junior Achievement programs, was a member of the Hicksville Rotary Club and was a Past President of the Edgerton Rotary Club. She enjoyed gardening, camping and spoiling her granddaughter. Mary A. Brodbeck was born on May 29, 1959, in Silver Springs, Maryland, the daughter of John W. and Alice (Kyser) Hardman. She married Rocky A. Brodbeck on December 16, 1978, in Bryan and he survives. Mary is also survived by one daughter, Stephanie Morgan, of Toledo, Ohio; one son, Christopher Brodbeck, of Sherwood, Ohio; one granddaughter, Claire Morgan, of Toledo; her father, John “Bill” Hardman, of Bryan, Ohio; one sister, Carol Thiel, of Edon, Ohio; and two brothers, John (Angela) Hardman, of Hempstead, Texas, and Mark (Tammy) Hardman, of Bryan. She was preceded in death by her mother, Alice Hardman, in 2008. Visitation for Mary will be held on Tuesday, February 10, 2015, from 3:00-8:00 P.M. in the Krill Funeral Home, 860 West Mulberry Street, Bryan. Private funeral services will be held for the family. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Community Health Professionals Inpatient Hospice or the Hicksville Relay for Life. The family would like to thank Dr. Muler and nurses of the Oncology Center in Defiance and the staff of Community Health Professionals Inpatient Hospice for their care and compassion.
