Reba P. Hahn

July 30, 1925 — January 28, 2015

Reba P. Hahn, age 89, of Bryan, Ohio, passed away on Wednesday, January 28, 2015, at her home. Mrs. Hahn was a homemaker and farm wife, enjoyed quilting and was the ultimate baker, known for her home-made cinnamon rolls. She was a very active member of Central United Brethren (now New Beginnings) Church, where she taught Sunday School and youth classes and was involved with the women’s circles. For the past few years she has attended Bryan First Brethren Church. Born on July 30, 1925, in Paulding County, she was the daughter of Wallace D. and Inza Belle (Boucher) Relyea. She was a 1943 graduate of Defiance High School. On February 24, 1946, she married George N. Hahn and he preceded her in death on July 30, 2011. Reba is survived by her son, John (Diana) Hahn, of Blacklick, Ohio; daughter, Nancy (David) Schairbaum, of Bryan; five grandchildren, LT Jamie (Joe Rivas) McFarland, with the U.S. Navy in Camarillo, California, Josh (Amy) Schairbaum, of San Antonio, Texas, Kristina (Jason) Huff, of Portland, Oregon, Heather (Andy) Scheurer, of Westerville, Ohio, and Megan (John Scott) Schairbaum, of Bryan; six great-grandchildren, Meghan Vredenburg, Adler Brian Schairbaum, Elias George Schairbaum, Lucio Rivas, Sabrina Rivas and Mae Scott; a great-great-granddaughter, Rhea Rivas; brothers, Wallace Relyea, of Continental, Ohio, Paul (Betty) Relyea, of Defiance, Marvin (Linda) Relyea, of Paulding, and Richard (Marlene) Metz, of Bryan; sisters, Revella (Harold) Buchanan, of Paulding, Marilyn (Homer) Greear, of Sherwood, and Carolyn Carnahan, of Bryan; and a sister-in-law, Pat Metz, of Defiance. She was preceded in death by her parents; step-mother, Louella Relyea; husband; brothers, Russell and Don Metz; and sisters, Veta Holt and Mae Cole. Visitation for Reba P. Hahn will be held on Sunday, February 1, 2015, from 2:00-5:00 P.M. at the Krill Funeral Home, 860 West Mulberry Street, Bryan. Funeral services will be held on Monday, February 2, 2015, at 11:00 A.M. in the Bryan First Brethren Church with Pastors Dennis Rowe and Brent Sloan officiating. Burial will follow at Shiffler Cemetery, near Bryan. In lieu of flowers or other gifts, the family strongly encourages memorial donations to Community Health Professionals Hospice.
