Mervin R. Stark, age 78, of Edgerton, Ohio, died at 4:28 P.M. on Saturday, January 17, 2015, at Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne, Indiana, where he was a patient, after a brief illness. Mr. Stark was 1954 graduate of Edgerton High School and served six years in the Army Reserve unit based out of Bryan, Ohio. He was a longtime employee of International Harvester in Fort Wayne, retiring when the plant closed. Mervin was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Edgerton and enjoyed hunting and fishing in his younger years and especially enjoyed traveling. Mervin R. Stark was born on September 1, 1936, near Edgerton, the son of Rupert E. and Guenievere A. (Manon) Stark. Survivors include five sisters, Regina (Ross) Strock, of Edgerton, JoAnn (Robert) Lantz and Lois (Richard) Grime, both of Bryan, Ohio, Rita (Ned) Boland, of Sherwood, Ohio, and Leone Miller, also of Bryan; five brothers, Dr. Meredith Stark, of Kendallville, Indiana, and James (Kathy) Stark, Thomas (Karla) Stark, Conrad (Rozalind) Stark, and Donald (Dorothy) Stark, all of Edgerton; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Dennis Joseph Stark. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 20, 2015, from 4:00-8:00 P.M. in the Krill Funeral Home, Edgerton. A scripture service will be held in the funeral home at 7:30 P.M. on Tuesday. Services will be held on Wednesday, January 21, 2015, at 10:30 A.M. at St. Mary Catholic Church in Edgerton with Reverend David Cirata officiating. Interment will follow in St. Mary Catholic Cemetery, Edgerton. Memorials are requested to the Wounded Warrior Project or to Disabled American Veterans.
