Darwin D. Wampler, Jr., age 74, of Edgerton, Ohio, died at 9:57 A.M. on Thursday, January 8, 2015, at Community Hospitals and Wellness Centers in Bryan after an extended illness. Mr. Wampler had worked at Airway Manufacturing for 43 years as a Shipping Supervisor and then as a Salesman at Quality Manufacturing, he had also owned The Video Shop in Edgerton. Darwin was a workaholic but enjoyed Western films, especially movies starring John Wayne and Clint Eastwood. Darwin was a huge Elvis Presley fan because he went to high school and played football with Elvis when he lived in Memphis. He enjoyed fishing when he was younger. He also attended Life Changing Realities Fellowship in Edgerton. Darwin D. Wampler, Jr. was born on June 19, 1940, in Dayton, Tennessee, the son of Darwin D. and Dorothy (Hill) Wampler, Sr. He graduated from Olivet (Michigan) High School. Darwin married Pamela S. Renollet on December 10, 1991, and she survives. Darwin is also survived by his children, Dawnie Hickey, of Swartz Creek, Michigan, Denise (Kyle) Fullhart, of St. Johns, Michigan, Darrell (Lori) Wampler, of Charlotte, Michigan, Darren Wampler, of Hicksville, Ohio, William (Jenny) Yochum, of Archbold, Ohio, Steven (Amber) Yochum, of Hicksville, Ohio, Matthew (Cheri) Yochum, of Edgerton, and Rachel (Shawn) Moreno, of Edgerton; fifteen grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; three brothers, Richard and Daniel Wampler, of Michigan, and Charles Wampler, of Tennessee; one sister; three nieces; and one nephew. He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, D.D. Wampler, and a granddaughter, Darla Wampler. In honor of Darwin’s wishes, no services will be held at this time. A celebration of his life will be held at a later date. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Krill Funeral Service, 114 East Hull Street, Edgerton, Ohio.
