Brenda Joyce Smith, age 69, of Edgerton, Ohio, died at 10:18 P.M. on Saturday, November 15, 2014, in her home after an extended illness. Mrs. Smith was employed by Regent Manufacturing in Edgerton as a welder until her retirement. Her memberships included the Eagles in both Butler, Indiana, and Bryan, Ohio, the Montpelier Moose Lodge and the Butler American Legion Auxiliary. She was an avid bowler and loved spending time with her grandkids. Brenda Joyce Smith was born on November 13, 1945, in Bryan, Ohio, the daughter of James and Marie (Kramer) Koch. She married John A. Smith, Jr. on December 23, 1990, in Holiday City, Ohio, and he survives. Survivors also include a daughter, Lori (David) Cohen, of Hampton, Virginia; two sons, Lonnie (Lorraine) Smith, of Edgerton, and Steve (Karen) Krontz, of Gahanna, Ohio; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; five sisters, Geraldine Cliffton, of Bryan, Florence (Roger) Patrick, of Edgerton, Karen (Alan) Wade, of Montpelier, Ohio, Barbara Knapp, of Bryan, and Jackie (Allen) Ordway, of Edgerton; and two brothers, James (Grace) Koch, of Edgerton, and Raymond (Josie) Koch, of Williams Center, Ohio. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, November 22, 2014, from 1:00 P.M. at the Miller Park Pavillion in Edgerton with Pastor Don Oliphant officiating. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorials are requested to the family for expenses.
