Lois Lautzenheiser Smith, age 92, of Bryan, Ohio, died at 10:05 P.M. on Friday, November 14, 2014, at Fountain Park Assisted Living in Bryan. She was an Executive Secretary at Personal Services Life Insurance Company in Columbus, Ohio, for many years. Lois was a member of the First Community Church in Columbus and was active with the choir, women’s guild and the church thrift shop. She loved to travel and had many trips throughout the United States and many overseas. Lois was born on November 20, 1921, near Blakeslee, Ohio, the daughter of Benjamin Franklin “B.F.” and Molly Rebecca (Bingaman) Lautzenheiser. She graduated from Edon High School in 1939 and the International Business College in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Lois married Anson Smith in 1986 and he preceded her in death in 1992. Lois is survived by her nephew, Gene (Koni) Lautzenheiser, of Edon; niece, Karen (Leo) Stutzman, of Brandon, Florida; nephew, Eric (Karen) Lautzenheiser, of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; several other nieces and nephews; great-nephew, Jeffrey (Jennifer) Kirk, of Angola, Indiana; stepsons, Ted (Jane) Smith, of Lancaster, Ohio, and Charles (Joann) Smith, of Richwood, Ohio; and several step-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Anson Smith, sister, Alice Eyster, and brothers, Leslie and Edgar Lautzenheiser. Funeral services for Lois Lautzenheiser Smith will be held on Thursday, November 20, 2014, at 11:00 A.M. in the Krill Funeral Home, 204 West Indiana Street, Edon, with Pastor Roger Marlow officiating. Interment will follow in Edon Cemetery, Edon, Ohio. Visitation will be held from 10:00-11:00 A.M. on Thursday, prior to the service. Memorials may be given to Community Health Professionals Hospice or an organization of the donor’s choice.
