Douglas J. Harding, age 46, of rural Edon, Ohio, died at 8:40 P.M. on Tuesday, November 4, 2014, in his home. Mr. Harding was a graduate of South Side High School in Fort Wayne, Indiana, and served in the United States Air Force for four years, stationed at Bergstrom Air Force Base in Texas as an Avionics Technician for F-4 fighter jets. He was employed by Glenbrook Dodge and Don Ayres Honda in Fort Wayne for many years in auto finance and sales and was also a former co-owner of Rita’s Restaurant in Edgerton, Ohio. Doug was an avid gun collector who also enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, 4-wheeling, all animals and his dogs and spending time with his family. Douglas James Harding was born on September 18, 1968, in Peru, Indiana, the son of Phillip J. and Berniece I. (Bowie) Harding. Survivors include his parents, Phillip (Carolyn) Harding, of Fort Wayne, and Berniece White, of Columbia City, Indiana; one brother, Ryan (Thursday) Harding, of Aurora, Colorado; two sisters, Kara (Chad) Kruse, of Fishers, Indiana, and Julie (Ryan) Briggs, of Columbia City; his nephews and nieces, Cole, MaKenzee, Gavin, Dillon, Logan, Tristen, Landan, Bailee, Peyton and Hadley; his stepchildren, Jessica (Eric) Marion, in Massachusetts, Jennifer (Jason) Slagle, in Michigan, and Jeremy (Danielle) Stickan, of Edgerton; his stepgrandchildren, Jacob, Audra, Cody, Lauren, Justin, Ruby and Christian; and his former wife, Rita Wehrle. Visitation will be held on Saturday, November 8, 2014, from 2:00-8:00 P.M. in the Krill Funeral Home, 114 East Hull Street, Edgerton. Services will be held on Sunday, November 9, 2014, at 2:00 P.M. in the Krill Funeral Home, Edgerton. Interment will be private. Memorials are requested to the Williams County Humane Society.
