Robert A. Jones, Sr., age 84, of Edgerton, Ohio, died at 10:55 A.M. on Tuesday, October 28, 2014, at Community Hospitals and Wellness Centers in Bryan, where he was a patient, after an extended illness. Mr. Jones was a1948 graduate of Bryan High School and served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. He was employed by the Ohio Art Company, retiring with forty-six years of service in 1996. His memberships included Local #701 of the UAW and John D. Smith Post #10 of the American Legion, Edgerton. He also enjoyed gardening and was known for his large vegetable garden at the north end of town. Robert Augustus Jones, Sr. was born on July 4, 1930, in Bryan, Ohio, the son of Howard E. and Edna E. (Shettle) Jones. He married Norma I. Durham on June 12, 1955, in Bryan and she survives. Survivors also include one son, Robert A. Jones, Jr., of Angola, Indiana, three grandchildren, Robert B. Jones, in Emporia, Kansas, Tiffany Marie Littlefield, of Elkhart, Indiana, and Misty Lee Wilson, of Ashley, Indiana; and one great-granddaughter, Cynthia. He was preceded in death by his parents, one granddaughter, Kira Ilene Jones, one great-granddaughter, Ariona Wilson, and two brothers, George and Charles Jones. Visitation will be held on Saturday, November 1, 2014, from 4:00-8:00 P.M. in the Krill Funeral Home, 114 East Hull Street, Edgerton. Services will be held on Sunday, November 2, 2014, at 2:00 P.M. in the Krill Funeral Home, Edgerton, with Ted Mathes officiating. Interment will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery with military rites conducted by John D. Smith Post #10 of the American Legion and the Unites States Army Military Honor Guard.
