Ann M. Bechtol, age 101, of Bryan, Ohio, passed away, Sunday, October 5, 2014 at 9:20P.M. at The Inn and Villas at Fountain Park in Bryan. Ann was the former owner of Schuck Jewelers in Bryan and had been involved with the business nearly all her life. She was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church in Bryan and a Life Member of the Military Officers’ Association of America (MOAA) Auxiliary. Born November 3, 1912 in Fostoria, Ohio, Ann was the daughter of George J. and Mary Catherine (Slattery) Schuck. She was a graduate of Bryan High School. She married Dr. Lauren L. Bechtol, D.V.M. on June 26, 1940 in Bryan and he preceded her in death on March 8, 1973. Ann is survived by her sons, Lauren “Skip” (Christine) Bechtol, Jr., of Bryan and Bruce (Donna) Bechtol, of Bryan; five grandchildren, Jeremy (Britania) Bechtol, of Marysville, Ohio, Kaitlyn Bechtol, of Cincinnati, Ohio, Kevin Bechtol, of Fremont, Ohio, Lucas (Toni) Bechtol, of Huntington, Indiana and Marianne Bohnlein, of Bryan and one great grandson, Bryson Bechtol, of Marysville, Ohio. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Dr. Lauren L. Bechtol, D.V.M. and a sister, Mary Schuck. Private funeral services for Ann M. Bechtol were held on Wednesday, October 8, 2014 at St. Patrick Catholic Church with Father James Halleron officiating. Burial at Fountain Grove Cemetery followed the service.
