Verda R. Curry, age 85, of Edgerton, Ohio, died at 8:05 P.M. on Friday, September 19, 2014, in her home, surrounded by her family. Mrs. Curry was a homemaker and devoted mother and grandmother, who enjoyed attending sporting events of her kids and grandkids, and also enjoyed playing cards and bingo at the senior center. She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Edgerton, the Rosary Altar Society and John D. Smith Post #10 American Legion Auxiliary. Verda R. Curry was born on June 10, 1929, in Waterloo, Indiana, the daughter of Albert J. and Lula M. (Bowers) Imm. She married Alfred L. Curry on September 6, 1947, in Edgerton, and he preceded her in death on January 11, 2000. Survivors include five daughters, Ketra Kay (Robert) Armitage, of Bonaire, Georgia, Melody (Orville) Rolston, of, Auburn, Indiana, Theresa (Gerald) Orick and Mary Hicks, both of Edgerton, and Julie (Dan) Baugh, of Edon, Ohio; four sons, Elwood “Woody” (Cindy) Curry, of Hicksville, Ohio, Andy (Sabrina) Curry, John (Jessie) Curry, and Joe (Amy) Curry, all of Edgerton; twenty grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; one sister, Ruth Kimpel, of Edgerton; and a sister-in-law, Isabel Imm, of Montpelier, Ohio. Preceding her in death in addition to her husband were three grandchildren, a half brother, Robert Bowers, and one brother, Donald Imm. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 23, 2014, from 2:00-8:00 P.M. in the Krill Funeral Home, 114 East Hull Street, Edgerton, with recitation of the rosary at 8:00 P.M. in the funeral home. Services will be held on Wednesday, September 24, 2014, at 10:30 A.M. in St. Mary Catholic Church, Edgerton, with Father David Cirata officiating. Interment will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Edgerton. Memorials are requested to St. Mary School.
