Richard J. McClure, age 87, of Bryan, Ohio, passed away on Monday, September 1, 2014, at Genesis HealthCare-Bryan Center, where he had been a resident. Mr. McClure was an Engineer for the B&O Railroad and a U.S. Army-Air Force Veteran of World War II. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Fort Wayne, Indian, and enjoyed spending time at the Bryan Senior Center and the CHP Adult Day Care in Archbold, Ohio. Born July 3, 1927, in Williams County, Ohio, Richard was the son of Leo R. and Audrey V. (Hastings) McClure. He married Hildegard C. Bleke on April 18, 1954, in Fort Wayne, Indiana, and she preceded him in death on April 6, 2009. Richard is survived by his sisters, Ruth (Leo) Thomas, of Bryan, and Helen Gordon, of Reno, Nevada, and a granddaughter. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, a daughter, Marlene, brother, Leo McClure, Jr., and a sister, Virginia Hemenway. Funeral services for Richard J. McClure will be held on Friday, September 5, 2014, at 5:00 P.M. in the Krill Funeral Home, 860 West Mulberry Street, Bryan, with Reverend Kurt Letcher officiating. Burial will follow at Farmer Cemetery with grave side military rites provided by the Farmer American Legion Post #137. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service, beginning at 4:00 P.M. Contributions in memory of Richard J. McClure may be made to the Bryan Senior Center.
