William Edward Vollmer, age 60, of Alvordton, Ohio, died suddenly at 3:50 A.M. on Tuesday, August 5, 2014, at Community Hospitals and Wellness Centers in Montpelier, Ohio. Mr. Vollmer graduated from Fullerton (California) High School in 1972 and then from Western Michigan University, where he received a Bachelor’s Degree in Medical Biology. He worked at Napa Auto Parts in California and had many hobbies, including building computers, tinkering on farm equipment and helping others. William Edward Vollmer was born on January 1, 1954, in Santa Monica, California, the son of John and Teriko (Yono) Vollmer. He married Teresa (Reagle) Smith on October 12, 2001, in Portage, Michigan, and she survives. William is also survived by two sons, Jason (Sara) Vollmer, of Grand Blanc, Michigan, and William Vollmer, of Goshen, Indiana; one daughter, Christina (Danny) Moore, of Three Rivers, Michigan; one stepson, Mark (Stacy) Fackler, of Russiaville, Indiana; five grandchildren; and two sisters, Barbara (Gary) Dunn, of Riverside, California, and Janet Vollmer, of Anaheim Hills, California. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Robert Vollmer, and one sister, Darlene Lawhead. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 16, 2014, at 11:00 A.M. in the Krill Funeral Home, 860 West Mulberry Street, Bryan, Ohio, with Pastor Dan VanArsdalen officiating. Memorials in the name of William Edward Vollmer may be given to the Western Michigan University Alumni Association.
