Robert Carl Nester, age 92, of Bryan, Ohio, died at 2:30 P.M. on Tuesday, June 10, 2014, at his home, surrounded by his family. Mr. Nester was a farmerand a truck driver and proudly served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was a member of Bryan VFW Post #2489, the Bryan Masonic Lodge, Williams County Conservation League, Williams County Gun Club and the Teamsters Union. Robert C. Nester was born on August 22, 1921, in Hillsville, Virginia, the son of Robert Edward Lee and Nancy G. (Bobbitt) Nester. He married Josie M. Dalton on November 4, 1949, in Columbia City, Indiana, and she preceded him in death on March 10, 2012. Robert is survived by two sons, Joe (Beckie) Nester, of Bryan, and Ed (RoxAnne) Nester, of Defiance, Ohio; one daughter, Mardell “Marty” (Adrian) Peavy, of Rocky Mount, Missouri; three grandchildren, Kyle, Brad and Brett Nester; five step-grandchildren; thirteen step-great-grandchildren; and a step-great-great-grandson. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; granddaughter, Kaitlin Nester; brothers, James, Otis and Webb Nester; and sisters, Essie Alderman and Mabel Frey. Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 12, 2014, from 3:00-8:00 P.M. in the Krill Funeral Home, 860 West Mulberry Street, Bryan. Funeral services will be held on Friday, June 13, 2014, at 11:00 A.M. in the Krill Funeral Home, Bryan, with his son-in-law, Adrian Peavy, officiating. Visitation will also be held for one hour prior to the service, beginning at 10:00 A.M. Military honors will be presented by Bryan VFW Post #2489. Interment will be in Fountain Grove Cemetery. Memorials are requested to the Williams County Conservation League Capital Improvement Fund.
