June A. (Castor) Horn, age 89, of Bryan, Ohio, and formerly of Kenton, Ohio, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 30, 2014, at Hillside Country Living. Born on Sunday, June 22, 1924, to W. Murray and Dorothy (Patterson) Castor, she was a 1945 graduate of Lima Memorial Hospital School of Nursing. As a registered nurse, June was the surgery supervisor of Lima Memorial prior to becoming the office nurse for the Kenton Physician Group.On May 26, 1957, June married her surviving spouse, Albert H. Horn, Jr., and together they are the parents of a daughter, Jennifer R. Horn, of Columbus, Ohio. After moving to Bryan in 1967, June became actively involved and held various positions within the following organizations: Welcome Club, Bryan Community Hospital Auxiliary, Fortnightly Study Club, ARTS (Recognition of Talented Students), Williams County Community Concert Association and the YWCA. She also donated her nursing skills to the American Red Cross Blood Bank, her beautiful singing voice to the Wesley United Methodist Church choir and her devotion to the care of animals that included Bonnie, Snipers, Princess and Witney.In 1983, she and her husband established their own private tax consulting business, where she worked for over 27 years.June was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Jane C. Fisher; and brother, PFC Jack P. Castor, KIA in 1943.Family and friends may visit on Monday, May 5, 2014, from 6:00-8:00 P.M. at Schindewolf-Stout and Crates Funeral Home, 200 East Columbus St., Kenton, OH 43326. Grave side funeral services will be held on Tuesday, May 6, 2014, at 11:00 A.M. at Grove Cemetery, Kenton, Ohio, with Pastor Scott Johnson officiating. A memorial service commemorating June's life will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Friday, May 9, 2014, at Wesley United Methodist Church, 903 Center Street, Bryan, Ohio, with Pastors Jeff Motter and Becky Schofield Motter officiating. A luncheon will follow the service.
