Berneda D. Leppelmeier

Berneda Darlene (Headley) Leppelmeier, age 89, of Edgerton, Ohio, passed away unexpectedly at 10:24 P.M. on Sunday, April 13, 2014, at Dream Haven Assisted Living in Edgerton, where she was a resident. Mrs. Leppelmeier was a 1942 graduate of Edgerton High School and spent her early years working as a bookkeeper at Day’s Furniture in Edgerton. She then married and became a homemaker and farm wife. Berneda Darlene (Headley) Leppelmeier was born on July 28, 1924, near Edgerton, the daughter of Wayne A. and Florence V. (Henney) Headley. She married Ralph F. Leppelmeier on April 6, 1947, in Edgerton, and he preceded her in death on February 19, 2013. They enjoyed wintering in Texas with their Williams Co. friends. Berneda was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Sherwood, and was proud to be a member of the church choir.Survivors include one son and wife, John (Janet) Leppelmeier, of Bryan; one grandson and wife, Jason (Sonya) Leppelmeier, of Cassopolis, Michigan; one granddaughter and husband, Julie (Kenneth) Garmenn, of Auburn, Indiana; two great-grandsons, Caleb and Austin Leppelmeier, of Cassopolis, Michigan; two great-granddaughters, Noelle and Janelle Garmenn, of Auburn, Indiana; one sister, Virginia Swift, of Montpelier, Ohio; and several nephews and nieces. She was also preceded in death by her son, Daryl Wayne Leppelmeier, on April 27, 1987; her parents; two brothers, infant Paul Headley and Virgil Lavon Headley; one sister, Hazel Doster; and one brother-in-law, Robert Swift.Services will be held on Thursday, April 17, 2014, at 11:00 A.M. in the Krill Funeral Home, Edgerton, with Reverend Kurt Letcher officiating. Visitation will be held for one hour prior to the service, beginning at 10:00 A.M., in the funeral Home. Interment will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, Edgerton. Memorials in the name of Berneda Darlene Leppelmeier are requested to St. John Lutheran Church in Sherwood, Ohio, or to Dream Haven Assisted Living.
