Virginia M. Schatzer

Virginia M. Schatzer, age 89, of Bryan, Ohio, passed away at 9:08 P.M. on Friday, January 10, 2014, at her home. She was a member of the Bryan Church of the Nazarene and retired from Bryan Custom Plastics in 1982. Virginia was born on January 25, 1924, in Williams County, Ohio, the daughter of Glen and Ida (Flower) Gorrell. She graduated from Bryan High School and married Charles A. Schatzer, Jr. in Bryan on September 26, 1946. He preceded her in death on February 6, 2000. Virginia is survived by her daughters, Karen (Mike) Walker, of Sherwood, Ohio, Jean (Randy) Bockover, of Bryan, and Mary (Mike) McCann, of Bryan; her son, Tom (Cindy) Schatzer, of Rockford, Ohio; twelve grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren and eleven step-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sisters, Iona Shape, Ruby Lilly and Irene Davis, and brother, Owen Gorrell. Funeral services for Virginia M. Schatzer will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, January 15, 2014, at the Bryan Church of the Nazarene with Pastor Roger Blough officiating. Burial will follow in Fountain Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 2:00-4:00 and 6:00-8:00 P.M. on Tuesday, January 14, 2014, at the Krill Funeral Home, 860 West Mulberry Street, Bryan, Ohio. Memorial contributions in the name of Virginia M. Schatzer may be given to the Bryan Church of the Nazarene or Community Health Professionals Hospice program.
