RuthAnn Hurley, age 67, died at 2:40 P.M. on Monday, December 2, 2013, at Defiance Inpatient Hospice Center, Defiance, Ohio, after an extended illness. Ms. Hurley was a graduate of Bryan High School and worked at Ohio Citizens Bank as a teller for twenty years and then for the Ramada Inn in Montpelier, where she was front desk clerk for nearly twenty years. She was a longtime member of the Bryan Eagles, Aerie #2233 and an avid motorcyclist. The focus of her life was her grandchildren, whom she loved to travel with, taking many trips over the years. RuthAnn Hurley was born on September 16, 1946, in Stryker, Ohio, the daughter of Wilson and Vivian (Lirot) Shetler. Survivors include her daughter, Kelly (Keith) Layne, of Defiance; four grandchildren, Andrew and Ian Rakes, Kiera Kirk and Nick Layne; and two sisters, Sharon (John) Brownlee, of Defiance, and Diane (Phillip) Frager, of Edgerton, Ohio. She was preceded in death by her parents and her former husband and longtime friend, Jim Hurley. Visitation for RuthAnn Hurley will be held on Friday, December 6, 2013, from 1:00-3:00 P.M. in the Krill Funeral Home, 860 West Mulberry Street, Bryan. Services will follow at 3:00 P.M. in the funeral home. Interment will be private. Memorials are requested to Community Health Professionals Inpatient Hospice.
