Wilbur Roy Cox

Wilbur “Roy” Cox, age 83, of Bryan, Ohio, died at 1:00 P.M. on Tuesday, November 5, 2013, at Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Roy was employed as a metallurgist with The Aro Corporation in Bryan, retiring with over 20 years of service. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War, a life member of the Bryan V.F.W. Post #2489, a member of the Military Order of the Cooties Pup Tent 16, and First Brethren Church in Bryan. Roy never knew a stranger and was a good neighbor to all. Wilbur Roy Cox was born on January 20, 1930, in Ovapa, Clay County, West Virginia, the son of Albert Wilber and Lula Dicie (Griffin) Cox. He married Patricia Ann Braun on March 22, 2008, in Bryan and she survives. Roy is also survived by a son, Charles (Suzanne) Cox, of Rossford, Ohio, and their children, Kevin M. Cox, of San Mateo, California, and Daniel (Shali) Cox, of Clyde, Ohio; a son, Kevin L. (Vicki) Cox, of Mesa, Arizona, and their children, Nicholas, Travis, Valerie, Bethany and Brienna Cox, all of Mesa; a daughter, Kelly (Kevin) Moe, of Oberlin, Ohio, and their children, Olivia and Kyle Moe, both of Oberlin; a daughter, Jennifer Cox, of Bryan, and her son, Austin Melnyk, also of Bryan; two great-grandchildren; and four sisters, Flora Faye Ashley, of Orlando, Florida, Anna M. (Tom) Wilson, of Wooster, Ohio, Lois June (Edgar) Witt, of Red House, West Virginia, and Nellie Jean Payne, of Parkersburg, West Virginia. He was preceded in death by his parents; stepfather, Patrick S. Hamrick; first wife, Dorothy Jean (Reed) Cox, on August 10, 1958; second wife, Darla May (Morton) Cox, on January 25, 2003; a brother, Richard Harold Cox; and an infant brother. Funeral services for Wilbur Roy Cox will be held on Monday, November 11, 2013, at 11:00 A.M. in the Krill Funeral Home, 860 West Mulberry Street, Bryan, Ohio, with Pastor Wayne Gropp officiating. Interment will follow in Brown Cemetery, with grave side military rites conducted by Bryan V.F.W. Post #2489. Visitation will be held in the funeral home on Sunday, November 10, 2013, from 2:00-8:00 P.M. Memorials in the name of Wilbur Roy Cox may be given to First Brethren Church in Bryan.
