Charles “Butch” L. Bany, age 73, of Bryan, Ohio, died Monday, November 4, 2013 at his residence. Mr. Bany was assembler and machinist at Aro Corporation and retired after more than 30 years of service. He was a US Army veteran serving in the Korean War. Butch was a member of Bryan VFW Post #2489, AmVets Post #54 and the Bryan Eagles Aerie #2233. He was also a volunteer fire-fighter in Bryan for over 20 years. Charles L. Bany was born November 5, 1939, in Bryan, Ohio, the son of Lewis Albert and Helen Marie (Keller) Bany. He was a graduate of Bryan High School. Butch married Barbara “Sue” Tobin, and she survives. Butch’s other survivors are his children, Lilly (Steve) Brown, of Montpelier, Ric Bany, of Montpelier, Greg Bany, of Edgerton, Vicki Ridenour, of Bryan and Kelly Bany, of Marion, Ohio; step-children, Julie (Dan) Thorpe, David Patterson and Trent Patterson, all of Bryan and Troy Patterson, of Seminary, Mississippi; 21 grandchildren; many great grandchildren and his sister, Deanna Dellinger, of Lima, Ohio. He was preceded in death by his parents. Services for Charles “Butch” L. Bany have been entrusted to Krill Funeral Service, 860 West Mulberry Street, Bryan, Ohio. A memorial service for Butch will be held at a later date. Memorials in the name of Charles “Butch” L. Bany may be given to Community Health Professionals Hospice.
