Shirley A. Gipple, age 70, of Hicksville, Ohio, and formerly a longtime resident of DeKalb County, Indiana, died at 9:30 A.M. on Friday, September 13, 2013, at Hickory Creek Nursing Center in Hicksville after an illness of one year. She was retired from Custom Lights Manufacturing in Ashley, Indiana, and enjoyed working crossword puzzles and spending time with her grandchildren. Shirley A. Gipple was born on May 30, 1943, in Butler, Indiana, the daughter of Ora Joseph and Thelma Irene (Weldy) Gipple. She is survived by two grandchildren, April Laney, of Edgerton, Ohio, and Misty Laney, of Hicksville, and two great-grandchildren, Xavyer Brown and Aryssia Brown. Also surviving are her siblings, Ed (Sue) Gipple, of Montpelier, Ohio, Veronica “Tootie” (Bud) Yoder, Pat Gipple, Donna (Jim) Wasson, Mary (Rich) Waters, and Denny (Carolyn) Gipple, all of Hicksville, and Don (Becky) Gipple, of Toledo, Ohio. Preceding her in death were her daughter, Sarah Laney, her parents, two sisters, Vesta Bowen and Linda Johnson, three brothers, Ora Gipple, Jr., Calvin Gipple and Ron Gipple. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 18, 2013, from 11:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. in the Krill Funeral Home, Edgerton, Ohio, with funeral services at 1:00 P.M. in the funeral home with Pastor Byron Adams officiating. Interment will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, Edgerton. Memorials are requested to a charity of the donor’s choice.
