Mabel I. Ames, of Bryan, Ohio, passed away peacefully at Hillside Country Living at 8:30 A.M. on Friday, August 23, 2013, two days before her 100th birthday. Mrs. Ames was a homemaker and was a member of the Pulaski United Methodist Church. Mabel helped found the Sunnyside School in West Jefferson. She and her husband farmed near Pulaski and their farm was a receiving station for the H. J. Heinz Company. Mabel was born on August 25, 1913, in Bryan, Ohio, the daughter of B.F. and Elsie (Bumpus) McConeghy. She married Howard Ames on November 11, 1934, and he preceded her in death. Mabel is survived by her daughter, Linda (William) Wallace, of Pittsford, New York; grandsons, Kevin W. (Liliana) Wallace, of Irving, Texas, LTC David M. Wallace, of Watertown, New York,, and Matthew W. H. (Annie) Wallace, of Pittsford, New York and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and brothers, Wayne and Delvin McConeghy. Krill Funeral Service, 860 West Mulberry Street, Bryan, Ohio, has been entrusted with the arrangements. A memorial service for Mabel will be held at a later date. Memorials in the name of Mabel I. Ames may be given to Hillside Country Living.
