Raymond R. Taliaferro, age 56, of Bryan, Ohio, died at 11:04 A.M. on Wednesday, July 10, 2013, at Community Hospitals and Wellness Centers in Bryan after a brief illness. He was a veteran of the United States Marines and was a member of Grace Community Church, where he was an active volunteer with Home by Grace. Raymond R. Taliaferro was born on April 14, 1957, in Welch, West Virginia, the son of Raymond R. and Fannie Sue (Divens) Taliaferro, Sr. Survivors include two daughters, Brittany Goodrich, of Defiance, Ohio, and Addie Bowers, of Edgerton, Ohio; a stepdaughter, Ebony Gray, of Cleveland; his goddaughter, Malinda Gowins, of Lexington, Kentucky; two brothers, Daniel Taliaferro and Robert Rhinehart, both of Cleveland; a sister, Stacey Howard, of Cleveland; one grandson, Antonio Gray, and a stepgrandson, Colten Gowins. Also surviving are his nieces, Sophia, Deandrea and Samaria; a nephew, Miles Rhinehart, and five great-nephews and great-nieces, Isabella, Isaiah, Isreal, Stephanie and Leianna. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Iesha Taliaferro, his parents and one brother, Sylvester John Givens. Visitation will be held on Saturday, July 13, 2013, from 9:00-11:00 A.M. in Grace Community Church, Bryan, Ohio. Service will follow at 11:00 A.M. in the church with Pastor Michael Kelly officiating. Interment will follow in Fountain Grove Cemetery, Bryan, with grave side military rites conducted by Bryan VFW Post #2489. Memorials are requested to the family to benefit his daughter.
