Michael Van Deusen, age 64, of Edon, Ohio, died at 12:59 A.M. on Sunday, July 7, 2013, at Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Mr. Van Deusen graduated from Cooley High School in Detroit, Michigan, in 1966 and attended Western Michigan University, where he received his Bachelor’s Degree in Business. He then attended Wayne State University, where he received his Master’s Degree in Business Administration in 1975. He become a truck driver and drove for several companies, including Roehl Trucking, Hornish Brothers Trucking and Werner Enterprises. Michael was also an avid Detroit Tiger fan. Michael Van Deusen was born on August 19, 1948, in Detroit, Michigan, the son of Lloyd and Naomi (Wilson) Van Deusen. Survivors include two aunts, Lena Luke, of Bryan, Ohio, and Alice Headley, of Haines City, Florida; his lifelong and dear friend, Walter (Sheila) Horbatch, of Northville, Michigan; his beloved god children, Joseph, Emily and Faith Horbatch; two cousins, Susan Headley, of Two Rivers, Wisconsin, and Carol Jo Hughes, of Woodbridge, Virginia, and his special friends and neighbors, Ed and Laura Wehrle, of Edon. Grave side services will be held on Monday, July 22, 2013, at 11:00 A.M. in the Edon Cemetery with Pastor Daniel Gallagher officiating. Memorials are requested to a charity of the donor’s choice.
