Alice J. Evans

Alice J. (Ferrebee) Evans, age 89, of Bryan, Ohio, died at 6:10 A.M. on Thursday, June 27, 2013, at Genesis Health Care in Bryan where she was a patient. Mrs Evans was a graduate of Stryker High School, attended Ohio University in Athens and served in the United State Navy during World War II as a pharmacy technician. She was a Licensed Practical Nurse, retiring from United States Air Force Malcolm Grove Hospital at Andrews Air Force Base in Maryland. Her memberships included Bryan Evening Star Chapter #248, Order of the Eastern Star, where she was a fifty year member, was a member Skipjack with the Navy and was also a member of the Saurett House Civil War Re-Enactment Group in Brandywine, Maryland.. Alice J. (Ferrebee) Evans, was born on February 22, 1924, near Farmer, Ohio, the daughter of Frank and Ethel (Donley) Conkey. She married Donald Ferrebee in 1945 and he preceded her in death in 1979. She then married Robert J. Evans on May 25, 1985, at Andrews Air Force Base in Maryland and he survives. She is also survived by a daughter, Ann Burrows, of Edgerton, Ohio, two sons, Michael Ferrebee, of Sommerville, New Jersey, and Mark (Donna) Ferrebee, of Edgerton, ten grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, six step grandchildren, one step great-grandchild, two step sons, Robert J. Evans in New Jersey and Thomas G. Evans in Virginia, one step daughter, Joyce K. Hafferman, of Monterrey, California. She was also preceded in death by three daughters, Barbara Ellen Ferrebee, Caryl Roesti and Martha Trausch, one son, Steven D. Ferrebee and one grandson, James Browning. Visitation for Alice J. Evans will be held on Sunday, June 30, 2013, in the Krill Funeral Home, 860 West Mulberry Street, Bryan, Ohio, from 4:00-8:00 P.M. Evening Star services will be held at 7:30 P.M. on Sunday, June 30 in the funeral home. Services will be held on Monday, July 1, 2013 11:00 A.M. in the funeral home with Reverend Al Wingfield officiating. Interment will follow in Farmer Cemetery with Military rites conducted by Bryan VFW Post #2489. Memorials may be given to Community Health Professionals Home Health and Hospice.
