Clarence Samuel Koch

Clarence Samuel “Sam” Koch, age 85, of Bryan, Ohio, died at 8:15 P.M. on Monday, June 10, 2013, at Fountain Park Inn and Villas in Bryan, where he was a resident. Mr. Koch was a 1945 graduate of Farmer High School and was employed as a truck driver and station manager for Atlantic Ritchfield, retiring with thirty years of service. He was a member of the Pulaski United Methodist Church, enjoyed farming, was an avid fisherman, loved draft horses and was an enthusiastic fan of the Dallas Cowboys. One of his favorites was flying kites with the grandkids. Clarence Samuel “Sam” Koch was born on July 17, 1927, in Evansport, Ohio, the son of George and Matilda (Cox) Koch. He married LaVada J. Jackman on May 4, 1974, in Williams Center, Ohio, and she survives. Survivors also include one daughter, Sue (Glyn) Buntain, of Bryan; two sons, Todd (Carol) Koch, of Fremont, Indiana, and Neal (Belinda) Koch, of Grand Prairie, Texas; two grandchildren, Anna Buntain and Nathan Samuel (Mallery) Buntain; one brother, Ray Koch, of Bryan, and two sisters, Ethel Hanawalt and Susie Powell, both of Bryan. He was preceded in death by one son, Nathan Craig Koch, two brothers, John, who died at the Battle of the Bulge during World War II, and Walter, and two sisters, Fern Kline and Mary Goebel. Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 13, 2013, from 2:00-4:00 and 6:00-8:00 P.M. in the Krill Funeral Home, 860 West Mulberry Street, Bryan. Services will be held on Friday, June 14, 2013, at 11:00 A.M. in the Pulaski United Methodist Church with Pastor Becky Ploughe officiating. Interment will follow in Farmer Cemetery. Memorials are requested to the Pulaski United Methodist Church or to the Alzheimer’s Memorial Walk at Fountain Park Inn and Villas.
