Marilyn D. Fry, age 84, of Bryan, Ohio, died at 7:05 A.M. on Friday, May 31, 2013, at Genesis Healthcare in Bryan after an extended illness. Mrs. Fry was a 1947 graduate of Bryan High School and had been employed by the Ohio Art Company, retiring in 1994 with 46 ½ years of service. She was a member of the First Brethren Church in Bryan and Bryan V.F.W. Post #2489 Ladies Auxiliary and had volunteered at the Bryan Senior Center and Community Hospitals of Williams County. Marilyn loved working outside in her garden, reading, doing puzzles and traveling to Florida to watch the Indians in spring training and to visit family. Marilyn was born on October 5, 1928, in Dundee, Michigan, the daughter of Myrland S. and Elsie E. (Martin) Gray. She married John Chrisman in January of 1955 in Angola, Indiana, and he preceded her in death in 1970. She then married Virgil F. Fry on September 12, 1979, in Bryan and he survives. Survivors also include three step-children; four step-grandchildren, one sister, Edythe Welling, of Fort Wayne, Indiana, a sister-in-law, Pauline Gray, of Venice, Florida, and several nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by her parents, one sister, Lucille Davis, three brothers, Milo, Robert and Myrland, Jr. Gray, a sister-in-law, Gertrude Gray, and two brothers-in-law, Richard Welling and Eldred Davis. Visitation will be held in the Krill Funeral Home, 860 West Mulberry Street, Bryan, on Monday, June 3, 2013, from 3:00-7:00 P.M. Services will be held on Tuesday, June 4, 2013, at 11:00 A.M. in the Krill Funeral Home, Bryan, with Pastor Wayne Gropp and Father James Halleron officiating. Interment will follow in Shiffler Cemetery near Bryan. Memorials are requested to the First Brethren Church or to Visiting Nurses and Hospice of Williams and Fulton Counties.
