Dorothy J. Crawford, age 93, of Edon, Ohio, died at 6:30 P.M. on Monday, May 20, 2013, at St. Anne’s Home in Fort Wayne, Indiana, where she was a resident. Mrs. Crawford was a lifelong resident of Edon, graduating from Edon High School in 1937 and from Warner Beauty College in 1939. She was employed by Fleetwood Industries for many years and then for Lamond Shipping until her retirement in 1995. She was also a member of the Edon United Methodist Church. Dorothy Juanita Crawford was born on November 11, 1919, in Edon, Ohio, the daughter of Otis Edward and Flossie Dorothea (Burkhardt) Gearhart. She married Ivan Dale Crawford on January 26, 1941, in Edon and he preceded her in death on September 15, 1988. Survivors include her grandchildren, Jeffrey D. (Cindy) Crawford, of Fort Myers, Florida, Patti Crawford and Tami (Chuck) Patton, both of Fort Wayne, Mitch Buell, of Edon, David (Laura) Buell, of Pleasant Lake, Indiana; two great-grandchildren, Kyle Patton and Leila Buell; a daughter-in-law, Nancy Crawford, of Edon, and a sister, Jeanette Dillon, of Edon. She was preceded in death by her son, Jerry Crawford, in 2008, and three infant sons, Richard, Robert and Franklin. Services will be held on Saturday, May 25, 2013, at 1:30 P.M. in the Krill Funeral Home, Edon, Ohio, with Pastor David Miller officiating. Interment will follow in the Edon Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Friday, May 24, 2013, from 4:00-8:00 P.M. in the Krill Funeral Home in Edon. Memorials are requested to Saint Anne’s Home or to Edon United Methodist Church.
