Jane Hurst Bell, age 83, of Bryan, Ohio, died at 5:21 A.M. on Monday, May 20, 2013, shortly after admittance to Community Hospitals and Wellness Centers, Bryan. A veteran of the U.S. Army, Jane served as a WAC during the Korean Conflict. A graduate of Defiance College, she was a teacher for over twenty years with Central Local Schools, having taught at Farmer Elementary. Jane Knowlton Hurst was born on April 29, 1930, in Macy, Indiana, the daughter of Blaine and Edna (McFadden) Hurst. Surviving are two daughters, Rosina (Tom) Bell-Games of Columbus, Ohio, and Rosemary (Fred) Seling, of Wooster, Ohio, ten grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, one daughter-in-law, Mary Ann Hurst, of Defiance, Ohio, and family friend, Donna Knisely, of Bryan. Preceding her in death were one son, Lynn Hurst, an infant daughter, Linda Bell, and one brother, Phil Hurst. Visitation will be held on Friday, May 24, 2013, from 5:00-8:00 P.M. in the Krill Funeral Home, 860 West Mulberry Street, Bryan. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 25, 2013, at 11:00 A.M. in Evansport United Methodist Church with Pastor Becky Ploughe officiating. Interment with grave side military rites will take place on Saturday, June 1, 2013, at 11:00 A.M. in Macy Cemetery, Macy, Indiana. Memorial contributions are requested to the Tiffin Township Volunteer Fire Department or the American Diabetes Association.
