Dorothy Ann “Dort” Frisinger, age 85, of Montpelier, Ohio, died at 3:30 A.M. on Sunday, May 19, 2013, at St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center, in Toledo, Ohio, where she was a patient, following a brief illness. Mrs. Frisinger formerly lived in Florida, where she worked as a printing press operator in Gainesville and as a nanny in Melbourne for many years until her retirement. She also volunteered with the migrant program while in Florida. Her volunteer work in this area involved serving as a gray lady in both Bryan and Defiance hospitals and working with troubled teens with the FISH program in Defiance County and was also a Head Start volunteer. She was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church, Bryan, Bryan VFW Post #2489 Ladies Auxiliary and Defiance County Humane Society. Dorothy Ann Frisinger was born on February 18, 1928, in Warren, Pennsylvania, the daughter of Scott Albert and Viola L. (Kittner) Sharman. She married John Wischmeyer and he preceded her in death. She then married Edward Frisinger, who also preceded her in death. Dorothy is survived by two daughters, Dee Darbo, of Kapaa, Hawaii, and Joni Wischmeyer, of Clovis, California; one son, Paul Wischmeyer, of Defiance, Ohio; eleven grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; two brothers, Scott Sharman, of Defiance, and Dick Sharman, of Houston, Texas, and one sister, Joan Riches, of Swanton, Ohio. Preceding her in death in addition to her husbands were a daughter, Judith K. Frisinger, and an infant son, John Scott Wischmeyer. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 22, 2013, from 3:00-8:00 P.M. in the Krill Funeral Home, 860 West Mulberry Street, Bryan, Ohio, with recitation of the rosary at 7:30 P.M. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, May 23, 2013, at 11:00 A.M. in St. Patrick Catholic Church, Bryan, with Father James Halleron officiating. Visitation will also be held in the church for one hour prior to the service, beginning at 10:00 A.M. Interment will take place in Oakland Cemetery, Warren, Pennsylvania. Memorial contributions are requested to the American Cancer Society or to the Williams County Humane Society.
