Philip D. “Flip” Bowen, age 63, of Pioneer, Ohio, died Tuesday, May 14, 2013, at his residence. Flip graduated from Aubeenaubee High School in Leiter’s Ford, Indiana. He was a Navy veteran serving as a Machinist Mate on a fast attack nuclear submarine, the USS Lawrence York Spear AS36. After his service in the Navy, Flip worked for Norfolk & Southern railroad, owned McCholski’s Pub in Montpelier and later worked as a paint mixer at Key Plastics. Philip D. Bowen was born in Gary, Indiana on May 7, 1950 the son of Richard A. and Alyette (Dumarche) Bowen. He is survived by his daughter, Rachael Bowen, of Bryan; son, Jacob Bowen, of Montpelier; granddaughter, Anabelle Bowen, of Bryan; former wife, Shana Bowen, of Montpelier; brother, Donald Bowen, of Plymouth, Indiana and sister, Cheryl Himes, of Plymouth, Indiana. He was preceded in death by his parents, son, Elliot Bowen and brother, Daniel Bowen. There will be no visitation or services held at this time. The family is being assisted by Krill Funeral Home, 860 West Mulberry Street, Bryan. Memorials in the name of Philip D. “Flip” Bowen may be given to the family c/o Krill Funeral Home.
