Barry L. Yarger

Barry L. Yarger, age 71, of Lake Seneca, near Montpelier, Ohio, died at 10:45 P.M. on Friday May 3, 2013, at Genesis Healthcare in Bryan, Ohio, where he was a patient, after a brief illness. Mr. Yarger was a 1961 graduate of Edgerton High School and served two tours in the United States Navy during the Vietnam Era. He was employed by Fleetwood in Edgerton until his retirement. A longtime resident of Edgerton, he was Scout Master with Boy Scout Troop #29 in Edgerton, where he was proud to have had thirteen scouts achieve the rank of Eagle Scout in eleven years. He was an active member of the Bryan Eagles, Aerie 2233, of which he served as past president, and also was a past Deputy State President, and was a member of Montpelier Eagles, Aerie 2246, and Bryan Amvets Post #54. Barry L. Yarger was born on April 30, 1942, in Wauseon, Ohio, the son of Orvel J. and Luella F. (Wolford) Yarger. He married Sally Ann Blosser on August 3, 1962, in Montpelier, Ohio, and she preceded him in death on April 7, 1989. Survivors include his parents, Orvel and Luella Yarger, of Edgerton, his children, Katrina (Rob) Nutter, of Winchester, Virginia, James Yarger, of Cleveland, Ohio, Joseph (Bridget) Yarger, of Edgerton, Kimberly Yarger, of Defiance, Ohio, and Jonathan Yarger, of Winchester, Virginia, eight grandchildren, and a special friend, Jill Costello, of Bryan. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Jeff Yarger, who died in Vietnam on March 18, 1968, and his longtime companion, Sheryl Yarde, who died on January 17, 2012. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 8, 2013, from 6:00-8:00 P.M. in the Krill Funeral Home, Edgerton. Services will be held on Thursday, May 9, 2013, at 11:00 A.M. in the Krill Funeral Home, Edgerton, with Pastor Donny Goff officiating. Interment will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery, Edgerton, with grave side military rites conducted by Bryan VFW Post #2489. Memorials are requested to the American Cancer Society.
