Waver Lee Keck-Dhaenens

March 24, 1928 — April 26, 2013

Waver Lee Keck-Dhaenens, age 85, of Bryan, Ohio, joined her heavenly father at 10:47 P.M. on Friday, April 26, 2013, while at Community Hospitals and Wellness Center in Bryan. Prior to devoting her life as wife and mother, Waver Lee was employed as secretary by the 50 Corporation and Ohio Art Company. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Bryan. Her passions in life were her family, church, dear friends, gardening, bridge and cross stitching. Waver Lee was born on March 24, 1928, in Franklinton, Louisiana, the daughter of Eugene and Allie Victoria (Taylor) McDonald and one of ten children. She married Herbert C. Keck in 1945 and he preceded her in death in 1987. She later married Daniel J. Dhaenens on March 13, 1999, and he preceded her in death on January 13, 2010. Waver Lee is survived by two daughters, Toni (Duane) Sandy, of Fort Walton Beach, Florida, and Julie Wanstedt, of Bryan; a son, John (Amy) Keck of Adrian, Michigan; her six grandchildren, Aaron Guilford, of Los Angeles, California, Laura (Ken) Sandy-Garcia, of Fort Walton Beach, Florida, Cody Thorp, of Toledo, Ohio, Ally Wanstedt, of Bryan, and Gabriele and Madeline Keck, of Adrian, Michigan; two great-grandchildren, Marcus Tolden and Kieran Feris, of Fort Walton Beach, Florida; brothers, Bobby (Shirley) McDonald, of Louisiana, and Marvin McDonald, of New York; a sister, Judy Boggs, of Texas, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, three brothers and three sisters. A memorial service and celebration of Waver Lee’s life will be held on Saturday, May 11, 2013, at 11:00 A.M. at Trinity Lutheran Church, Bryan, with Reverend Mary Beth Smith-Gunn officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior. A luncheon will be served at the church following the service. Memorials in the name of Waver Lee Dhaenens may be given to Trinity Lutheran Church, Bryan, Ohio. In lieu of traditional flowers, the family requests you share your favorite garden plant or flower to create a memorial garden in remembrance of Waver Lee and in honor of her beloved family and friends.
