Karen Schwartzengraber Menefee, age 68, of Bryan, Ohio, died at 1:55 A.M. on Monday, April 15, 2013, at Genesis Health Care in Bryan, where she was a patient, after an extended illness. Karen was a 1963 graduate of Bryan High School and was employed by Park View Nursing Center in Edgerton, Ohio, for fifteen years, where she was laundry supervisor for ten years. She was also employed by Tru-Fast in Bryan for five years, Air-Way Manufacturing in Edgerton for nine years, and Regent Manufacturing in Edgerton, from where she retired. She was a member of the Bryan Am-Vets Post #54 and was involved with the Senior Saints at the First Church of Christ in Bryan. Karen S. Menefee was born on October 19, 1944, near Bryan, Ohio, the daughter of Barney and Treva S. (Kimpel) Schwartzengraber. After the untimely death of her parents at a young age, she was raised by Thoral and Marjorie Mitchell. Survivors include three brothers, Walter Schwartzengraber, of Fremont, Indiana, Darrell (Karen) Schwartzengraber, of Coldwater, Michigan, and Don Schwartzengraber, of Bryan, Ohio; one sister, Linda (Randy) Smith, of Los Alamos, New Mexico; five nephews, and five nieces. Visitation will be held on Friday, April 19, 2013, from 9:00-11:00 A.M. in the Krill Funeral Home, 860 West Mulberry Street, Bryan. Services will follow at 11:00 A.M. in the funeral home with Pastor Eric Stangland of Creswell Christian Church in Bel Air, Maryland, officiating. Interment will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, Edgerton.
