Wayne Babb, age 65, of Edgerton, Ohio, died at 9:05 A.M. on Wednesday, April 10, 2013, in his home after a brief illness. Mr. Babb attended North Central High School, Pioneer, Ohio, and entered the United States Army, serving in Vietnam. He was an accomplished welder, working with Babb Trucking, Edgerton, and his brothers for thirty years. He and his brother, Allen, fabricated Thomas the Train, which kids loved to ride at the annual 4th of July parties and was a favorite in local parades. Wayne Babb was born on December 1, 1947, in Pioneer, Ohio, the son of Vernon Wilbur and Ruth (Holt) Babb. His survivors include two daughters, Sarah B. Dempsey, of Napoleon, Ohio, and Rachel L. Babb, of Toledo, Ohio; three grandchildren, Kayla, Leah and Dalton; one brother, Vernon Ray (Karen) Babb, of Saugatuck, Michigan; two sisters, Alleatrice (Jerry) Nortwick, of Lake Seneca, Ohio, and Nellie Lavens, of Fremont, Ohio; and one sister-in-law, Connie, Babb, of Edgerton. He was preceded in death by his parents, stepmother, Lorena Babb, and one brother, Allen Babb. Services celebrating the life of Wayne Babb will be held at a later date.
