Marian Maxine (Enterline) Burkhart, age 89, of Edgerton, Ohio, passed away following a brief illness on Sunday, March 17, 2013, while she and her two daughters were visiting her son and daughter-in-law in The Villages, Florida. To her family, she was a devoted wife of 49 years and she was a wonderful mom who loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and friends and enjoyed playing cards, music and traveling. Her friends at the Williams County YMCA described her as “the pretty little lady who smiles all the time.” As a woman who was very involved with her family, church and community, Marian wore many hats. She was a bookkeeper, working with her husband in their family business, B & L Specialty. A member of Edgerton Church of Christ, she served as pianist for over 50 years and was also a member of Do-It-Right Farm Bureau Council for over 50 years. She was a member of Bryan Chapter #248 of the Order of the Eastern Star, where she held the office of Martha for many years, and was Grand Representative in Ohio to Wisconsin. Her other memberships included Priscilla Club, Fountain City Squares and volunteering as a 4-H advisor for 15 years. Marian M. Burkhart was born in Williams County, Ohio, on April 14, 1923, the daughter of Blaine and Florence (Nichols) Enterline. She was married to Boyd Burkhart on August 30, 1942, and he passed away on January 6,1992. Marian is survived by her son, Larry (Sharon) Burkhart, of The Villages, Florida; two daughters, Karen Simmons (and friend Ken Connin), of Bryan, Ohio, and Judi (Mike) McGowan, of Sylvania, Ohio; five grandchildren, who thought she made the best desserts ever, Dan (Jill) Burkhart, of Durango, Colorado, and Kelly, Erin, Molly and Michael McGowan, of Sylvania, Ohio, and two great-grandchildren, Maddox and Camilla Burkhart. Also surviving is one brother, Duane "Bud" (Loretta) Enterline, of Edgerton. Preceding her in death in addition to her husband, Boyd, was a granddaughter, Tobi Burkhart. The funeral service for Marian Burkhart will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, March 23, 2013, at the Edgerton Church of Christ, with Pastor Donny Goff officiating. Visitation will be held in the church prior to the service, from 9:30 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. Interment will be in Maple Grove Cemetery in Edgerton. Memorials are requested to Edgerton Church of Christ or Hospice of Williams and Fulton Counties.
