Julia F. Moore, age 98, of Montpelier, Ohio, and formerly a longtime resident of Edgerton, Ohio, died at 9:40 P.M. on Thursday, February 21, 2013, at Evergreen Manor Nursing Center, Montpelier, Ohio, where she was a resident, after an extended illness. Mrs. Moore was a member of the Edgerton United Methodist Church and WSCS of the church, was a former member of the Order of the Eastern Star in Speedway, Indiana, Bryan Chapter #248, Order of the Eastern Star, the Ladies Oriental Shrine of North America, Dendarah Court #10, and Zenobia Ladies Shrine of Northwest Ohio. She was also a former Girl Scout leader and was an avid fisherman and loved flowers. Julia F. Moore was born on September 17, 1914, in Paris, Illinois, the daughter of Fred A. and Martha Marie (Athey) Baldwin. She married Dean K. Moore on August 24, 1932, in Paris, Illinois, and he preceded her in death in 1992. Survivors include one daughter, Phyllis (Lloyd) Herrington, of Montpelier, Ohio; one granddaughter, Helen (Lester) Quimby, of Colon, Michigan; a granddaughter-in-law, Jan Herrington, of Sherwood, Michigan; five great-grandchildren, Zach (Kristine) Herrington, Nolan (Liz) Herrington, Christina Quimby, Dennis (Lori) Quimby, and Jeremiah Quimby; and three great-great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by one grandson, Harry Allen Herrington. Visitation will be held in the Krill Funeral Home, Edgerton, Ohio, on Monday, February 25, 2013, from 5:00-8:00 P.M. with an Eastern Star service conducted at 8:00 P.M., following the visitation. Services will be held on Tuesday, February 26, 2013, at 11:00 A.M. in the Krill Funeral Home, Edgerton, with Pastor Jeff Motter officiating. Interment will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery, Edgerton. Memorials are requested to Shrine Hospitals.
