Kenneth C. Fiig, age 90, of Edgerton, Ohio, died at 7:21 P.M. on Monday, February 18, 2013, in his home. Mr. Fiig served with the U.S. Army Air Corps in Europe during World War II. He retired from Lutterbein Lumber Company in Edgerton. His memberships included St. Mary Catholic Church and John D. Smith Post #10 of the American Legion, both in Edgerton, and VFW Post #2489 in Bryan, Ohio. Kenneth C. Fiig was born on March 27, 1922, in Edgerton, the son of John W. and Dora Ann (Sanders) Fiig. He married Dorothy S. Thiel on June 7, 1947, in Blakeslee, Ohio, and she preceded him in death on March 19, 2008. Survivors include one son, Kenneth M. Fiig, of Edgerton; one grandson, David (Carrie) Fiig; one stepgrandson, Nathan (Summer) Kaiser; four great-grandchildren, Kayla, Madison, Brandon and Austin; and his longtime caregivers, Mike and Alisia Kaiser, all of Butler, Indiana. Preceding Mr. Fiig in death in addition to his wife were two grandsons, Michael Fiig and Shane Kaiser, three brothers, Rupert, John and Carl Fiig, and three sisters, Arietta Bell, Rose Beevers and Marguerite Miller. Grave side services for Mr. Fiig will be held on Monday, February 25, 2013, at 11:00 A.M. in St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in Edgerton, with Father David Cirata officiating. Military rites will be conducted by Bryan VFW Post #2489. Memorials may be given to St. Mary Catholic Church, Edgerton.
