Leo B. Franks, Sr., age 86, of Bryan, Ohio, died at 7:29 P.M. on Tuesday, January 22, 2013, at Community Hospitals and Wellness Centers Emergency Room in Bryan. Leo was a graduate of Mark Center High School and attended Defiance College. He was Chief Inspector at Hayes-Albion and 50 Corporation and worked at Essman Screw Products. He was a member of the Bryan Masonic Lodge #215 for over 50 years. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, serving as a Military Police officer during the “Cleanup Campaign” in Europe at the conclusion of the war. Born on November 23, 1926, in Fort Wayne, Indiana, he was the son of Erwin G. and Madona (Dennis) Franks. After his mother’s death, he was raised by Howard and Mildred Dennis. Leo married Arlene M. Impton on February 8, 1949, near Auburn, Indiana, and she survives. Also surviving are Leo’s sons, Skip (Julie) Franks, Kenny (Deb) Franks and Rick (Char) Franks, all of Bryan; daughter, DiAnn (Rick) Beilke, of Bryan; seven grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; eight step-grandchildren; nine step-great-grandchildren; a brother, Wayne (Marge) Dennis, of Bradenton, Florida; and sisters-in-law, Kay Dennis; of Edgerton; and Delores Dennis; of Montpelier. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, E. Lavon Franks, Dick and Gene Dennis, and sister, Delores Phillips. Funeral services for Leo B. Franks, Sr. will be held on Saturday, January 26, 2013, at 1:00 P.M. in the Krill Funeral Home, 860 West Mulberry Street, Bryan, Ohio, with Pastor Mark Holbrook officiating. Burial will follow the service at Maple Grove Cemetery, Edgerton, with grave side military rites provided by the Bryan VFW Post 2489. Visitation will be held on Friday, January 25, 2013, from 2:00-4:00 and 6:00-8:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions in the name of Leo B.
