William "Bill" Joe Stombaugh

William “Bill” Joe Stombaugh, age 72, of Pulaski, Ohio, passed away peacefully at his home on Friday, January 4, 2013, with his loving family at his side. He is now living pain free in Heaven with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Bill was a machinist and fabricator working at Anderson-Vreeland in Bryan and Leader Engineering in Napoleon. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy serving from 1958-1961. Bill was a faithful member of Grace Community Church and was on the Board for the Compassion Medical Clinic. Bill was born on December 24, 1940, in Bryan, Ohio, the son of Clair and Marjorie (Welker) Stombaugh. He married Maria Carlin on August 19, 1989 in Bryan and she survives. Bill is also survived by his sons, Scott (Susan) Stombaugh, of St. Joe, Indiana and Todd (Lori) Stombaugh, of Fort Wayne, Indiana; stepdaughters, Shawnaa Harwell, of Bryan and Sindy (Lauren) Rigg of Defiance; 19 grandchildren; a great grandson; brother, Jack (Norma) Stombaugh of Bryan, former wife, Susan (Paul) Nowak of Tempe, Arizona and stepfather, Rich Luken of Coldwater, Ohio. He was preceded in death by his parents; granddaughter, Meredith Stombaugh; brother, Gary Stombaugh, and stepmother, Louise Luken. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, January 12, 2013 at Grace Community Church in Bryan with Pastors Mike Kelly and David Falls officiating. Visitation will be held at the church for one hour prior to the service. Interment will be private at Shiffler Cemetery. Military rites will be provided by Bryan VFW Post 2489. Services have been entrusted to Krill Funeral Home, 860 West Mulberry Street, Bryan. In lieu of flowers, memorials are requested to Grace Community Church Ministries or the Compassion Medical Clinic.
