Ashley M. Jenkins, age 17, of Bryan, Ohio, died early on Thursday, January 3, 2013, from injuries sustained in a fire in her home. A student in the junior class at Four County Career Center, she was studying to someday become a nurse. She was a straight-A student and a member of the Honor Society and the GRADS Program. Ashley was also currently employed at the Ice House and at McDonald’s in Bryan. Ashley M. Jenkins was born on November 14, 1995, in Defiance, Ohio, the daughter of Jackie Lynn Call and Michael Jenkins. Survivors include her six-month-old son, Nycholaas Glen Alexander Williams McConnell; her mother and stepfather, Jackie and Joseph Kurtz, of Bryan; her father, Michael (Jody) Jenkins, of Liberty Center, Ohio; two brothers, Cody Jenkins, of Bryan, and Travis Jenkins, of Defiance; two half-sisters, Stella Jenkins and Eden Jenkins, both of Liberty Center; her grandmother, Linda Guido, of Perrysburg, Ohio; her grandfather, Jack Call, of Winter Garden, Florida; her great-grandmothers, Jane (Hector) Lopez, of Toledo, Ohio, and Beatrice Jenkins, of Defiance; a step-grandmother, Barbara Kurtz, of Bryan; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. She was preceded in death by her fiancé, Sebastian McConnell, a special aunt, Judy Romero, and several aunts and uncles. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 8, 2013, from 5:00-7:00 P.M. and on Wednesday, January 9, 2013, from 12:00-2:00 P.M. at Grace Community Church in Bryan. Services will be held on Wednesday, January 9, 2013, at 2:00 P.M. in Grace Community Church, Bryan, with Pastor David Falls officiating. Interment will be private. Memorials are requested to the family.
