James L. Hoch, age 58, of West Unity, Ohio, died at 10:00 A.M. on Thursday, January 3, 2013, at his home following a brief illness. He worked in the Curing Department at General Tire for 33 years prior to his retirement and then worked at the Montpelier Auto Auction until his illness. He was a 1972 graduate of Edgerton High School and a member of the Montpelier Moose Lodge. Jim enjoyed spending time with family and friends and watching sports. He was a diehard fan of the Indiana Hoosiers, Detroit Tigers and Tennessee Volunteers and was an animal lover. Born on August 25, 1954, in Montpelier, Ohio, he was the son of Frederick Otto and Lois Ann (Rowlison) Hoch, who survive in Bradenton, Florida. He is also survived by his sons, Jason Lee (Ruth Ann) Hoch, of Ellaville, Georgia, and Tyson Lee (Beth Ann) Hoch, of Forest City, North Carolina; one grandson, Jacob Tyson Hoch, of Oxford, Ohio; one brother, Mark (Cheri) Hoch, of Jacksonville, Florida; one sister, Julie Hoch, of Niles, Michigan; and his fiancée, Sherrie Queen, of West Unity. Visitation will be held on Sunday, January 6, 2013, from 4:00-8:00 P.M. in the Krill Funeral Home, 860 West Mulberry Street, Bryan, Ohio. Services celebrating the life of James L. Hoch will be held on Monday, January 7, 2013, at 11:00 A.M. in the Krill Funeral Home, Bryan, with Pastor Mark Holbrook and Pastor Byron Adams officiating. Interment will be private. Memorials are requested to Community Health Professionals Hospice and Home Health.
