Dortha A. Wolf, age 97, of rural Montpelier, Ohio, died at 1:01 p.m. on Friday, December 28, 2012, in her home. A 1934 graduate of Defiance High School, Mrs. Wolf graduated from Lucas County Hospital School of Nursing in Toledo, Ohio, in 1938 as a registered nurse and began working at Lucas County Hospital. After her marriage to Oral F. Wolf, they moved to rural Montpelier in 1947 and she continued her nursing career working at Defiance Hospital and then at Bryan Hospital, retiring in 1983 with 23 years of service. She was a member of the Edon United Methodist Church. Dortha A. Wolf was born on March 21, 1915, in Defiance County, Ohio, the daughter of Frank and Alma Bell (Miller) Blanchard. She married Oral F. Wolf on December 25, 1939, in Defiance, Ohio, and he preceded her in death on May 31, 1999. Survivors include three sons, Gary L. (Kay) Wolf, M. Dean (Marsha) Wolf, both of Montpelier, and Roger E. (Susan) Wolf, of Celina, Ohio, and one daughter, Verna (Larry) Keesbury, also of Montpelier. Also surviving are twenty grandchildren, thirty-six great-grandchildren, and fourteen great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one grandson, Keith Wolf, on May 26, 1999, two brothers, Howard and Orland Blanchard, and five sisters, Donelda Blanchard, Jessie Blanchard, Florence Wolf, Vera Stoffel, and Caroline Hathaway. Services and visitation will be private with interment in West Buffalo Cemetery near Edgerton. Memorials are requested to Community Hospitals and Wellness Centers Hospital Hospice.
