Clarence K. Harrington, age 82, of Bryan, Ohio, died at 2:29 A.M. on Sunday, December 30, 2012, at Community Hospitals and Wellness Center in Bryan, where he was a patient, following a brief illness. A 1949 graduate of Pioneer High School, he was employed as a delivery truck driver for over twenty years with Spangler Candy & Tobacco Co., then managed the Bonded service station in Bryan for two years, and worked as a welder for Challenge-Cook Brothers. He retired as a welder from Bard Manufacturing Company in Bryan in 1995 after sixteen years of service. A 50-year member of Bryan Eagles Aerie #2233, he was currently serving as President, a position he held a total of eleven times, as well as numerous other offices, and was an active member of the ritual team. He was a past deputy state president of District 16. He was also a lifetime member of Montpelier Eagles. His hobbies included bowling, camping, fishing and reading westerns. Clarence K. Harrington was born on May 7, 1930, in Pioneer, Ohio, the son of Vern and Maude (Mercer) Harrington. He married Shirley A. Ridgway on July 28, 1973, in Angola, Indiana, and she survives. Also surviving are two sons, Thomas L. Harrington and Lyle V. Harrington, both of Bryan; two daughters, Barbara (Dale) Sanders, of West Unity, Ohio, and Sherie Pike, of Paulding, Ohio; eight grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; and three sisters, Faye Swank and Dorothy Altman, both of Montpelier, Ohio, and Grace Esterline, of Pioneer, Ohio. He was preceded in death by one granddaughter, Diane Sanders, one great-grandson, Michael Harrington, his parents, and two brothers, Ed Harrington and Luther Harrington. Visitation will be held from 4:00-8:00 P.M. on Wednesday, January 2, 2013, in the Krill Funeral Home, 860 West Mulberry Street, Bryan, with an Eagles Memorial Service held at 7:30 P.M. Private interment will take place in Fountain Grove Cemetery, Bryan. Memorial contributions are requested to the American Diabetes Association or the Alzheimer’s Foundation.
