Isabel R. (Ames) Wetmore, age 84, of Archbold, Ohio, and formerly a lifelong resident of Bryan, Ohio, died at 1:25 P.M. on Wednesday, December 19, 2012, in her home after an extended illness. Mrs. Wetmore was a 1946 graduate of Bryan High School and was employed by Citizens Bank in Bryan as a bookkeeper and secretary, and for many years operated an in-home day care for children. She was an active member of the First Church of Christ in Bryan, was past president of Church Women United and served as secretary for Williams County Habitat for Humanity, as well as volunteering at Harborside and for Outreach of Williams County. She was also active as a den mother with the local Boy Scouts, with the Bryan High School Band Boosters and with the local food pantry for many years. Isabel R. Wetmore was born on August 3, 1928, in Bryan, Ohio, the daughter of John Harold and Mildred (Shaull) Ames. She married Gerald D. Wetmore on July 8, 1950, in Bryan and he survives. Also surviving are one son, Steven A. (Mary) Wetmore, of Tucson, Arizona; one daughter, Christine Gearig, of Wauseon, Ohio; four grandchildren, Nikol (Kevin) Kinnersley, Alison (Mike) Neuenschwander, Ryan (Melissa) Wetmore and Kyle Wetmore; six great-grandchildren, Brady, Jordyn and Colin Kinnersley, Mitchell and Samantha Neuenschwander, and Jacob Ryan Wetmore; one sister, Lila (Leon) Shoup, of Montpelier, Ohio; and her special adoptive grandson, Sam Wetmore, in Missouri. Private grave side services will be held at Shiffler Cemetery on Thursday, December 27, 2012, with Pastor Larry Snavely officiating. A reception celebrating the life of Isabel A. Wetmore will be held on Thursday, December 27, 2012, from 12:00-2:00 P.M. in the Krill Funeral Home, 860 West Mulberry Street, Bryan. Memorials are requested to a charity of the donor’s choice.
